How to cut a clean lawn edge
A clean lawn edge will aid mowing and ensure your garden looks crisp and is finished cleanly.
An overgrown lawn edge can look very unsightly and make the garden, however tidy it may be, look untidy.
For a professional finish re-cut the edges of your lawn every spring and trim any overhanging grass off as you mow.
Step-by-Step guide
Tools needed:
Lawn edging knife
Lawn or edging shears
1 Re-cut all the edges of your lawn in the spring using an edging knife. For a straight cut, try using a plank of wood as a guide, or for a curve use a piece of rope, or even the garden hose (providing you don’t cut it).
2 After each mowing, trim any overhanging grass with long-handled edging shears or hand grass shears.
